THE UNIQUE HEALING PROGRAM DONNA PESSIN: GETTING RID OF THAT PAIN IN THE ASS

My hips and entire lower body are healing while on The Unique Healing Program. Long term pain and a very complex injury, this healing process has taken faith on my part and a deep belief, long before I found The UHP, that healing happens on a cellular level and begins in the gut. With that said…

A PAIN IN THE BUTT

Pain in the hips and buttocks are very common for many people of a wide variety of age groups and lifestyles. Among some, it is often felt when they start doing more rigorous workouts. Workouts that involve squats, jumping in and out of a squatting position, lunges, sprinting and spinning. In my experience, any exercise that wakes up the sleeping giant  of acidity that collects within the joints of most people, including some children, is the bottom line cause of this discomfort. The accepted word used to explain that discomfort is Lactic Acid. The term Lactic Acid is used as indiscriminately in the world of what I call Managed Sickness [aka Western Medicine] as is Metabolism, Heart Attack and Stroke and most other names for specific illnesses that are greatly inspired by selling drugs form Pharmaceutical Companies. I firmly believe those specific terms for illnesses can serve a needed purpose. These medical diagnosis can be a wake up a cal for many. They can also create a sense of defeat and overwhelm for those who feel ill. Many patients understandably don’t have the  stamina / chutzpah to go looking for an answer outside what the Pharmaceutical Company – Western Medical Paradigm provides. When people are ill they can often just collapse into the arms of what seems to be the safest most highly traveled path.

What is this post about?

I am hoping to briefly give my point of view of how some joint pain, especially in the lower body begins, festers and can be lessened. How it can be dispelled more quickly, identified as the beginning of something more deep seated and begin to be eradicated. A tall order and one that, depending on when the pain or injury is addressed, does not have to take forever to clear. Unfortunately, most people are under the impression that it is normal to have discomfort after strenuous work outs or “hard labor”. The advocation of medicating before workouts through Pharmaceutical Companies via all forms of media is hitting a younger and younger audience really hard. This selling of over the counter pain relief to be taken before pain is felt is directed toward all audiences. No Pain, No gain- but YOU [consumer] don’t have to feel it at all. Not now, anyway…

The hip joints are big recipients of constant use and misuse for an number of reasons. All of this can and does greatly contribute to pain in these areas. Briefly, sitting too long without a break, sitting without proper support, exercising under stressful conditions and from a place of improper posture are some basic reasons. Other brief examples would be rigorous gym and athletic activity without proper cross training, and weekend warrior workouts. No pain, No gain mentality. Lifting weights and doing other sports with hyperextended joints. This is the tip of the iceberg, but  maybe you get the idea? All this greatly impacts all of the joints, but most frequently the lower back, hips and buttocks. Just a glimpse.

LEARNING FROM OUR PETS

Dogs most usually have back leg problems. Front leg issues are much less the case, in fact I have never heard of one. The bowel, kidneys and sexual organs of dogs and other [domesticated] animals are near that  back end. The level of health of these organs greatly determines the health of those back leg joints. Okay, so same with people. The colon, kidneys/bladder, sexual organs location deeply impacts the hips and back. The poor health of these organs has a much broader implication – on a cellular level. Just look at the anatomy of the colon and how that lines up with the hips and buttocks. Acupuncture points aside, and they really can help diagnose a large part of why people are in so much pain, these localized locations of organs to joints are very telling. I think this is really common sense and a very inconvenient truth.

WHAT TO DO?

One plan of action is to look at The Top 5 Diet Tips Video. This video and blog posts, connected to the link, are largely about why eating a  less acid forming diet heals the body. Secondly, to take something to absorb the acidity that is in all of our tissues, organ, blood and cells and that is Sodium Bentonite Clay. There may be another clay out there that is good that I am not familiar with. I have used Zeolite Clay. Healing with clay takes time, but you can reap benefits early on. Start somewhere. Other things can help, such as bodywork, soaking in mineral baths, saunas and infrared heating pads. All this is great, but what is going on internally is the key. This key, reducing acid accumulation in the joints by healing our digestion and elimination, can help clear our minds to know what the next steps are. In other words, eliminate brain fog, confusion and encourage clearer thinking. The gut- brain connection is very real.

BOTTOM LINE – NO PUN INTENDED – MAYBE A LITTLE BIT

Acids collect in the joints and diminish their function. If you have pain don’t accept that it is inevitable. If you have pain you can continue to take medications while on The Unique Healing Program while healing. Speaking to Donna Pessin can be very helpful, especially if you are taking pain meds that are prescribed or over the counter. In the meantime, read her book[s] – I think the first book is the most important. Watch the UHP videos and check out past notyourrawmama blog posts here. These notyourrawmama posts chronicle my experience before and while on The Unique Healing Program. The posts are honest and straight forward. I believe they can help some people feel support in healing, answer and shed light on The Unique Healing Program. Help some while on other healing programs.

Here are a few other notyourrawmama blog posts about hip pain that may be of help:

Poor Digestion and Joint Pain I wrote this just prior to UHP. It  has been revised since finding The UHP.

Heal Hip Pain Now a quick read on some alternative ideas to heal. The UHP is one of those things mentioned.

Hip Replacement Surgery a post with a link to a video showing how hip replacement surgery is often performed. Make an informed decision.

There are many other posts about The UHP. Where it was appropriate and helpful, I wemt back and revised all the posts and mentioned The Unique Healing Program.

At the age of ten I distinctly remember questioning the premise that illness just happens to us. The idea that every action has a reaction became a clear reason to doubt that I could not personally impact my own health. In my very early twenties I was introduced to the Macrobiotic Philosophy of Life and assisted a Macrobiotic Counselor in NYC over a period of ten years or more. My life took many twists and turns and I evolved from a trained dancer and performer to a Shiatsu Therapist, Yoga Teacher, Colon Therapist and student of different Spiritually oriented Mind Body Therapies at the Esalen Institute and other healing centers. My associations are as follows: Member of the AOBTA for over 20 Years Member of the NCCAOM for approximately 12 years Member of the Yoga Teachers Alliance 500 hours for approximately 12 years Colon Therapist [ Wood's Institute ] Since 1998 Along with studying REIKI [ 2nd degree ] I was part of a School based on the work of Railey Macey, Dr. Robert Jaffe and Hands of Light. Railey Macey was my teacher. Thank you for your interest in my blog. notyourrawmoma "Wherever you are be the soul of that place". Rumi

  1. Every time I meet someone who is constantly going to the chiropractor for lower back pain, I tell them that they should really ask the chiropractor just where those nerves innervate….which organs the nerves that are giving you pain are going to. They usually give me a strange look. Most generally people give no thought that their pain could be connected to something internal like an organ that is malfunctioning. Often they just think they have injured the area and it now won’t stay in place because it is weak. Again, most people hear what I have to say, but then discredit it and keep going down the same path they are on……I am one of those people who did ask questions. I wanted to know WHY? Asking questions gets us one step closer to healing. Mainstream medicine really discourages us from asking questions. We are told what to do and most people leave it at that….thus continuing down the same spiraling path. Thanks again Mary for all of your insight!

  2. Anita, Everything you say here makes so much sense. It is just inconvenient for people in the short term. Against the body is a machine analogy and replacing parts is the way to go. Unfortunately, it is a snowballing mess that results in so many other complications. We are all paying for this in tax dollar and a sad feeling of loss and confusion among many. The good thing is people are looking for answers as some ask themselves – Where is this all going? Thanks for all your feedback.
