Dr. Andrew Zakarian, DDS is a formerly based NYC, holistic  dentist that has been in San Diego since 1999. His dental education and training was done at NYU and Columbia University [link here]. If you don’t know what Holistic Dentistry means, read on…

I recently moved to the west coast of the USA and wanted to find a holistic dentist. More specifically one who had studied with Dr. Hal Huggins, DDS.  I am extremely grateful to have found one, and so much more at Natural Dental Arts In San Diego, California[ link here]. Dr. Andrew Zakarian was recommended to me by  the office of Dr. Hal Huggins, DDS [link here]. Dr. Huggins is, as far as I know, the leading authority in holistic dentistry.

Although Dr. Zakarian does not do dental implants he does do the follow up work of capping implants. He has a very skilled lab for creating all dental replacements, partials and full dentures. I found him to have an extremely open mind when addressing the condition of my mouth. I did not feel judged. He has a kind and patient manner that creates a feeling of confidence. I initially contacted Dr. Zakarian because I was looking for a dentist  that used bio compatible / non-toxic materials. Cosmetic concerns are addressed and resolved by Dr. Zakarian and his staff. My experiences with all services have been excellent.

There is nothing like being in an office environment where the people who work there seem happy. The office is competently run. Rebecca, the office manager, is friendly and knowledgeable. The entire staff does their job in a way that allows Dr. Zakarian to be truly present with each patient. Also, I have never been in a dental office where the dental chairs were facing ceiling to floor glass windows that look out onto a Japanese rock garden and fish pond.  Not the typical florescent lit dental offices offices I have been in over the years in New York City and New Jersey.

Thank you, Dr. Zakarian, for bringing honor to the dental profession. Also, for truly making me feel taken care of and safe in a dental setting. I can say that I am always pleasantly surprised by this dental office. It is worth the two hour drive.

As a postscript approximately one year late; I am still extremely pleased with Dr. Zakarian, and feel very fortunate to have found his office.

At the age of ten I distinctly remember questioning the premise that illness just happens to us. The idea that every action has a reaction became a clear reason to doubt that I could not personally impact my own health. In my very early twenties I was introduced to the Macrobiotic Philosophy of Life and assisted a Macrobiotic Counselor in NYC over a period of ten years or more. My life took many twists and turns and I evolved from a trained dancer and performer to a Shiatsu Therapist, Yoga Teacher, Colon Therapist and student of different Spiritually oriented Mind Body Therapies at the Esalen Institute and other healing centers. My associations are as follows: Member of the AOBTA for over 20 Years Member of the NCCAOM for approximately 12 years Member of the Yoga Teachers Alliance 500 hours for approximately 12 years Colon Therapist [ Wood's Institute ] Since 1998 Along with studying REIKI [ 2nd degree ] I was part of a School based on the work of Railey Macey, Dr. Robert Jaffe and Hands of Light. Railey Macey was my teacher. Thank you for your interest in my blog. notyourrawmoma "Wherever you are be the soul of that place". Rumi
