I have found myself feeling disgusted, disappointed, and angry with the way some major personalities in the raw food community continue to use fear to sell products. I feel my incredulous reaction to what they are doing. I acknowledge this is my interpretation of how they are doing business, but I am sure I am not alone. There are some red flags. What exactly am I talking about? Here are a few examples:
Mike Adams [” The Health Ranger”] slamming Adya Clarity with unjustified venom. The manner in which he has gone about it has me questioning what his personal vendetta is with Adya Clarity.
What is Adya Clarity? [link here].
Same topic, different perspective, is the way that Adaya Clarity was marketed by its distributors. Some sellers did this from a place of fear and panic. The world, as we know it, is coming to an end and there will be no infrastructure. Boo! So, you better stock up on the only product that will clean the filthiest of the filthy water. Your water! Kacper Postawski did this in his fear based Webinar. I received links to the Postawswki information through Matt Monarch.
On the Mike Adams Health Ranger website there is a blurb advertising a program he and Daniel Vitalis are presenting together. The program was being touted with the following words, ” Are you prepared for the coming crisis?” This has now been replaced on this website with “Are you ready to Surthrive?” I have to say that I have respect for Daniel. I have also purchased his Elixir audio program and video. Some of his products are marketed under the name Surthrival. Hmm, Surthrival, sounds like survival.
Watching behavior of those involved in marketing, selling Adya Clarity was sadly entertaining. Many were silent, dissociating themselves. In the case of Matt Monarch, he explained his stance on Adya Clarity and never challenged Mike Adams. Evidently, Mike Adams wields a great deal of power. Anyway, I felt disgusted with all of them. Especially the one tainting information with a suspiciously mean spirited banter. The way we do one thing is the way we do everything. Mike Adams prose sounds like that of a bully.
I observed myself being triggered. The same fear tactics that sold the product was now wearing a different guise, and turning the elixir, Adya Clarity, into a poison. The same fear tactic that got my feathers all raised up in the first place.
It is never solely about the people or issues I am upset by, it is my response to them. Why is doomsday advertising so easily triggering fear and anger in me? One thing I can say is that it is a trigger I share with many others. It is a tactic that is widely used in advertising across the board. That does not mean I can not take action, boycott businesses, make other product choices, etcetera. In the end, that all may or may not effect the marketers, but I have learned a deep lesson.
As a postscript: I have continued to use Adya Clarity and find it a useful product. Dr Brian Clement of the Hippocrates Health Institute can be seen on youtube discrediting the information Mike Adams wrote a couple of years back. Some info here.
