HEALING ARTHRITIC JOINTS NATURALLY

HEAL YOUR DIGESTION FIRST

I have used the following herbs in tea form to help in the healing and  rebuilding of my body structure:

Horsetail, Oat Straw, Nettles, Long Pepper and Schizandrea Berry. High in the minerals silica, calcium and magnesium this herbal combination could be effective for providing easily absorbed nutrition. It definitely soothes the nervous system and helps to alkanalize the blood.

HOW MUCH

I use a couple of tablespoons each of  Horsetail, Nettles and Oat Straw. About one teaspoon of Schizandra Berry and one inch of  fresh Ginger cut up in small pieces. Long Pepper should be used judiciously. It is a spicy formula  activator. I put all ingredients in a  32 ounce Ball jar. Infuse with good quality water that has almost come to a boil. Let it steep for at least 20 minutes. Sometimes I let mine sit for a few hours. Strain before drinking.

I sometimes take my unstrained tea, put  it through the Vita Mix and then strain it. I feel it helps to break down the herbs and I think I may get more nutrients that way. Strain through a nut milk bag.

HEALING MY HIP INJURY: A HOLISTIC APPROACH

HERE ARE  SOME STEPS I HAVE TAKEN TOWARD HEALING. INCLUDED ARE FOOD IDEAS TO FURTHER RESEARCH. WAYS TO ASSIST IN HELPING THE HEALING OF AN ACUTE OR CHRONIC PAIN SITUATION.

There are so many ways to approach healing the body. Hip and joint pain indicates that other aspects of health need to be addressed. I hope that makes sense to those reading here. If it does not, then it is important to examine the idea that we are all capable of healing our bodies. That our bodies are capable of healing themselves. In order to heal, I believe, it is important to consider and eventually accept that premise. I have chosen not to employ allopathic medicine to heal my body. Because of that choice, I have taken all that I do with serious fun. I fully understand why people choose traditional medicine, especially for pain, and I say that from my heart.

What is serious fun? Take action, do my best to stick to the plan and have a sense of humor about it all. Working at having fun is sadly ridiculous.

The prior post was about basic digestive health improvement. Here I want to address some very basic dietary ideas that have been very useful to me in the healing of my hip.

WHERE TO START

Using some kind of edible clay to absorb toxins in the digestive tract is one way to start. If you are not familiar with the term heavy metals, it would be a good idea to find out more about what they are and how to rid your body of them. Absorbing minerals that the body needs to heal is inhibited by heavy metal contaminants.

Juicing and green smoothies are really helpful. I have pasts posts about how to juice with a high power blender if you do not have a juicer. Juicing and green smoothies are a great way to clean up out cells and repair our bodies. The importance of  consuming organic produce has to do with the soil it has been grown in, which is more mineral rich than produce that is not grown organically.

Seaweeds are mineral rich and easy to prepare or just eat out of a bag. Dulce, kelp, nori are three that need no prep. Minerals are needed for every cellular process. Most diets in many parts of the world are devoid of organic and easily assimilated minerals. If our diets are low or devoid of these needed minerals then our bones become the go to source for these minerals. Teeth are bones.

If you are not a vegan or vegetarian consider eating sardines. The condition of our waterways and oceans is a concern. I buy Wild Planet Sardines. I eat sardines when I feel the need. They are rich in minerals. I just knew the first time I ate them that it was the right thing to eat.  Fish or organically raised birds or beef  are proteins to consider when rebuilding the body. I keep the portions small and remember proper food combing. I have  written about  PFC in the other posts.

Egg yolks or whole eggs [organic only] are another option for animal source protein. Purchase eggs from a local farm and reliable source.  I eat 2 to 3 at a time. How often is dependent on many factors. No rules. Once a week, month. I once had a huge craving and ate them everyday for a week. I soft boil the eggs. Fry them on a low heat in organic coconut oil. Some people use the raw yellows in smoothies. I have done this and it has been easy to digest. Combining them with fruit is not so easy to digest.  Eating the whole egg is fine, just do not overcook them. When they get rubbery they don’t taste as good and are harder to digest.

Colostrum, raw butter, raw coconut oil, raw cheese are some options for people to rebuild joints. Keep the individual  portions small and they will be digested and assimilated well.

HEAL HIP AND JOINT PAIN NOW!

I have personal experience with a complex hip injury. My injury involved a hairline fracture and partial tears to ligaments. Consequently there are some adhesions. If you have an injury there are circulatory blockages and other complications. My  situation has many of these symptoms, as do many injuries that go undetected or ignored. What I would like to do is share some ideas of how to assist in the healing of injury to bone, muscle, ligament, tendon and tissue. Hip and pelvic injury is a subject that I will have several posts about.

My background as a dancer, athlete and bodyworker greatly contributes to the information I have to share. My own healing and the healing process of others has given me great insight.

One major idea is to improve digestive health so that food, supplements are assimilated properly and toxins can be absorbed and released. Here are few thoughts:

There are many digestive enzyme products and probiotics on the market. Some are good and some are useless. To simplify things I can personally recommend the quality of the products created by Dr. Fred Bisci. They can be purchased on his website. There are others that are good, but all his stuff is top notch. One stop shopping.

Quality of food is another issue that I will handle in later posts. If  you are looking to heal an injury naturally, you have some understanding of diet. Whatever you eat chew it really well. Start with at least 5-10 chews per mouthful. It should be a gruel like consistency when it leaves your mouth. No, I am not kidding. I once told someone to do this and they told me that I must be a bore to eat with. Maybe.

Proper food combining is important to understand. I have heard some people question the necessity to follow this way of eating. If you burp, fart, have some bowel irregularities and other health issues your digestive health is poor. Understand the basis of food combining and give it a try. All health issues are ultimately linked to digestive problems. Sinus problems and allergies is a very common one. I have to say that people who question food combining have very strong inherent digestive health. Others began healing their digestion at an early age. They explored cleansing, juicing and  dietary regimens that exclude refined foods.

Making your last meal of the day 3-5 hours before going to sleep.  Sleep is primarily for the recovery and repair of our bodies. One can not rest and heal  if they are digesting food eaten right before sleep. It is hard to hear this, but the size of our stomachs can be determined by putting our hands cupped together with the palms facing up. Yes, that is what our stomachs can comfortably digest and utilize. This is especially true if your digestion is weak. Good -bye super sizing!

Educate yourself on the seasonal changes and the need to cleanse at these times. Different organs are more active at different times of  the year and compliment seasonal changes. Book recommendation ahead.

What does any of this have to do with bones, tendons, ligaments, fascia, muscle, blood, etcetera? Well, believe it or not, the food that we eat creates the quality of our blood. Our blood is a delivery system for all our nutrients. Improving what we eat, our digestion and our circulation are the  foundations for healing.
