THE UNIQUE HEALING PROGRAM DONNA PESSIN: GETTING RID OF THAT PAIN IN THE ASS

My hips and entire lower body are healing while on The Unique Healing Program. Long term pain and a very complex injury, this healing process has taken faith on my part and a deep belief, long before I found The UHP, that healing happens on a cellular level and begins in the gut. With that said…

A PAIN IN THE BUTT

Pain in the hips and buttocks are very common for many people of a wide variety of age groups and lifestyles. Among some, it is often felt when they start doing more rigorous workouts. Workouts that involve squats, jumping in and out of a squatting position, lunges, sprinting and spinning. In my experience, any exercise that wakes up the sleeping giant  of acidity that collects within the joints of most people, including some children, is the bottom line cause of this discomfort. The accepted word used to explain that discomfort is Lactic Acid. The term Lactic Acid is used as indiscriminately in the world of what I call Managed Sickness [aka Western Medicine] as is Metabolism, Heart Attack and Stroke and most other names for specific illnesses that are greatly inspired by selling drugs form Pharmaceutical Companies. I firmly believe those specific terms for illnesses can serve a needed purpose. These medical diagnosis can be a wake up a cal for many. They can also create a sense of defeat and overwhelm for those who feel ill. Many patients understandably don’t have the  stamina / chutzpah to go looking for an answer outside what the Pharmaceutical Company – Western Medical Paradigm provides. When people are ill they can often just collapse into the arms of what seems to be the safest most highly traveled path.

What is this post about?

I am hoping to briefly give my point of view of how some joint pain, especially in the lower body begins, festers and can be lessened. How it can be dispelled more quickly, identified as the beginning of something more deep seated and begin to be eradicated. A tall order and one that, depending on when the pain or injury is addressed, does not have to take forever to clear. Unfortunately, most people are under the impression that it is normal to have discomfort after strenuous work outs or “hard labor”. The advocation of medicating before workouts through Pharmaceutical Companies via all forms of media is hitting a younger and younger audience really hard. This selling of over the counter pain relief to be taken before pain is felt is directed toward all audiences. No Pain, No gain- but YOU [consumer] don’t have to feel it at all. Not now, anyway…

The hip joints are big recipients of constant use and misuse for an number of reasons. All of this can and does greatly contribute to pain in these areas. Briefly, sitting too long without a break, sitting without proper support, exercising under stressful conditions and from a place of improper posture are some basic reasons. Other brief examples would be rigorous gym and athletic activity without proper cross training, and weekend warrior workouts. No pain, No gain mentality. Lifting weights and doing other sports with hyperextended joints. This is the tip of the iceberg, but  maybe you get the idea? All this greatly impacts all of the joints, but most frequently the lower back, hips and buttocks. Just a glimpse.

LEARNING FROM OUR PETS

Dogs most usually have back leg problems. Front leg issues are much less the case, in fact I have never heard of one. The bowel, kidneys and sexual organs of dogs and other [domesticated] animals are near that  back end. The level of health of these organs greatly determines the health of those back leg joints. Okay, so same with people. The colon, kidneys/bladder, sexual organs location deeply impacts the hips and back. The poor health of these organs has a much broader implication – on a cellular level. Just look at the anatomy of the colon and how that lines up with the hips and buttocks. Acupuncture points aside, and they really can help diagnose a large part of why people are in so much pain, these localized locations of organs to joints are very telling. I think this is really common sense and a very inconvenient truth.

WHAT TO DO?

One plan of action is to look at The Top 5 Diet Tips Video. This video and blog posts, connected to the link, are largely about why eating a  less acid forming diet heals the body. Secondly, to take something to absorb the acidity that is in all of our tissues, organ, blood and cells and that is Sodium Bentonite Clay. There may be another clay out there that is good that I am not familiar with. I have used Zeolite Clay. Healing with clay takes time, but you can reap benefits early on. Start somewhere. Other things can help, such as bodywork, soaking in mineral baths, saunas and infrared heating pads. All this is great, but what is going on internally is the key. This key, reducing acid accumulation in the joints by healing our digestion and elimination, can help clear our minds to know what the next steps are. In other words, eliminate brain fog, confusion and encourage clearer thinking. The gut- brain connection is very real.

BOTTOM LINE – NO PUN INTENDED – MAYBE A LITTLE BIT

Acids collect in the joints and diminish their function. If you have pain don’t accept that it is inevitable. If you have pain you can continue to take medications while on The Unique Healing Program while healing. Speaking to Donna Pessin can be very helpful, especially if you are taking pain meds that are prescribed or over the counter. In the meantime, read her book[s] – I think the first book is the most important. Watch the UHP videos and check out past notyourrawmama blog posts here. These notyourrawmama posts chronicle my experience before and while on The Unique Healing Program. The posts are honest and straight forward. I believe they can help some people feel support in healing, answer and shed light on The Unique Healing Program. Help some while on other healing programs.

Here are a few other notyourrawmama blog posts about hip pain that may be of help:

Poor Digestion and Joint Pain I wrote this just prior to UHP. It  has been revised since finding The UHP.

Heal Hip Pain Now a quick read on some alternative ideas to heal. The UHP is one of those things mentioned.

Hip Replacement Surgery a post with a link to a video showing how hip replacement surgery is often performed. Make an informed decision.

There are many other posts about The UHP. Where it was appropriate and helpful, I wemt back and revised all the posts and mentioned The Unique Healing Program.

THE UNIQUE HEALING PROGRAM DONNA PESSIN: HAND PAIN-HEALING PAIN ON THE UNIQUE HEALING PROGRAM

Something I want to share immediately is that  I have had hand discomfort and stiffness for about 10 years. I knew the cause was not occupational. I know people who do not do anything arduous with their hands and  they have hand pain. Even children. Okay, so my hands could be stiff at times, but the most upsetting thing to me was that they could hurt very badly if someone tried to shake my hand or if anyone tired to hold my hand. This was a really bad sign to me. Toward the end of my living in NYC, as a bodyworker and colon therapist, I used my hands despite this discomfort and utilized my elbows and forearms when I could for bodywork. I never accepted hand pain as unsolvable. I can report that the pain in my hands is completely gone. I still have some finger stiffness at times, but it is nothing in comparison to what I did have 18 months ago when I began The Unique Healing Program.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL PAIN?

My experience is a slow healing with my right hip, but I have had pain in my right hip joint beginning in early 2001. I am also over 55 years of age. As a dancer, athlete, bodyworker and yoga teacher I always had some stiffness in my hips and hamstrings. I worked at being flexible. Quite frankly, most of the other athletes, dancers and yoga teachers I knew, also worked at being flexible. What does that mean?  This is all subjective, but many to most over stretched their bodies and created more problems than they realized. Some people start certain athletics to defy physical limitations. People tend to be more competitive when they are younger and are not working their bodies from the inside out. Does this feel right? What is good for me?  No Pain, No Gain is part of our culture here in the USA and in other countries all over the world. Re: The Olympics.

INFLAMMATION IS NOT A ONE AREA OF THE BODY DEAL

To understand that our Immune System is also encapsulated in our joints is very important. Here is one explanation. To understand that our Immune System is greatly contained in out gut is vital to understand how we heal and how we become inflamed weakened and ill. Here is one explanation.

HAND PAIN AND THE LUNG AND LARGE INTESTINE

One hand point that is very important to know about that is linked to the Large Intestines and Lungs is located in the hand. It is an extremely common place for many to have pain and to develop some calcifications. It is near a joint that easily begins to look arthritic and “deformed”. I don’t like that word, but it gets the point across. Large Intestines 4 is a good point to treat yourself for, among other things, gas and constipation.

Some people feel that the body heals from the head down. I have sort of experienced this, but have had healing breakthroughs and changes all over my body while on The Unique Healing Program. I also have frustration about areas not healing, to my liking, fast enough. Generally speaking, I am not really sure exactly what is going on, but in most instances this theory seems sort of true. Legs can heal much later in the game due to gravity, poor circulation that increase the likelihood of  toxins collecting there due to these facts. What is your experience?

If you are on The Unique Healing Program Donna Pessin, hang in there. If you are debating whether to begin it or not, keep watching her videos, read her books and check out past posts on this blog site. These tools will help you to decide and make an educated decision. One thing I have to say is that part of not feeling well can be ruminating too much and not taking action. Just keep that in mind.

THE UNIQUE HEALING PROGRAM DONNA PESSIN: PAIN – HEALING JOINT PAIN WITH THE UNIQUE HEALING PROGRAM

HEALING PAIN AND INFLAMMATION THROUGH THE UNIQUE HEALING PROGRAM DONNA PESSIN

I have had an inflamed condition in my digestive system that has shown up in my right hip. How this all began and my quest for better health has been discussed in past posts. I will go into more detail in future ones about joint pain. I have felt, for about 15 years, that the way to heal my hip pain was to heal my digestive system and create a healthy bowel. Since the beginning of The Unique Healing Program I have had an improvement with my gut by having daily regular formed bowel movements. Ongoing constipation has been part of my life since I was a child. To have my gut show some positive response to the Sodium Bentonite Clay and other supplements that are part of  The UHP was really a huge green flag for me. This Unique Healing Program brought me a result that no other did. As you can read in many of my other posts on this site, I am a veteran of a many decade search for better digestive health. This was not something I consciously wanted as a life mission. With so many others suffering [commercial advertisements directed at all age groups] I know I am not alone and am pretty, pretty sure I have something others are interested in hearing about. How to heal, rejoin the world and experience life differently.

Healing pain and managing pain are two very different things. Many programs of all different kinds talk about managing pain. They often do not talk about finding the root cause and healing the problem on the physical and emotional realm . I have done years of emotional healing work including EFT [Emotional Freedom Technique] that can help alleviate and understand the emotional roots of pain. EFT can often bring long or short term relief to some people. In order for deep healing to come about it helps to really believe pain can actually be eradicated. Why? Well, my belief  that it can be healed  has kept me on my quest for a solution without relying on daily quick fixes from Western Medicine. So, how do you heal pain? Well, this is one of the reasons I have been so reluctant to write about my experience with my hip pain-injury.My reluctance comes from not having an answer that would be easy to put into words. An answer that might make sense to readers, and be at all palatable. So, I  have decided to write about it in several parts and hope that these parts make up something that translates well on paper. Something that people can identify with.

This is a introductory post on my pain healing experience onThe Unique Healing Program. Here are three things I can share in all honesty that may help those looking for an answer. Those who have any kind of pain, and are looking for a long term source of relief and deep healing:

Number 1: I have, without a doubt, felt the deep connection between my bowel being more or less healthy and my pain becoming less to more pronounced. Consistent improvement has not come quickly for me on The UHP, but I did not expect it to. Prior to my finding The Unique Healing Program I spent at least 12 years seeking an answer to heal pain and inflammation in my right hip and lower back. I did this through entirely natural means. My constipation issues go back to childhood and had me looking for an answer since my teens. So, we are talking decades on a quest to feel better at many different levels. There was no internet when I started this journey. It is so much easier now and the resources are so much greater. A real understatement.

Number 2: An inflamed joint means an inflamed digestive system. A better quality diet based on healing principles does not guarantee better health for everyone or anyone across the board. I have written a great deal about this on this blog site. My need to seek another way to heal became clear to me due to a hip injury, and pain that lingered afterwards. When I started to have pain I was in deep denial. This denial come from believing my diet, cleansing, colonics, bodywork, yoga, etcetera would protect me and eventually I would attain gut health. My pain won out and I began to look elsewhere. That search finally brought me to The Unique Healing Program.

Number 3: Pain, especially long term pain, will take time to heal. The digestive / eliminative system will, in most situations, completely heal in gradations. How long this will take is hard to say. Patience is not usually an attribute of someone who has pain. You are a candidate for joint / body pain if you are often constipated, have unformed stools, have indigestion, feel agitated, annoyed with people easily, can not sleep well, find the world a frightening place [I know the media says that is ALL the world is], need coffee and other stimulants to keep going, can not / have trouble loosing weight, can not gain weight, have OCD of any level, depressed, unable to maintain relationships or they are a burden of sorts, hormonal issues, eating disorders, reproductive problems, all kinds of addictions, and so much more. Why? Because these are all results of inflamed conditions and sooner or later you will, to some degree, feel it in your joints. This will most likely first happen if you have an injury. And yes, all those around you will call it normal,”old age”, and probably give it a fancy medical name. You will then be offered the “glamorized drugs” that Pharmaceutical Companies dole out like candy to any doctor or licensed medical practitioner who is willing, and or able to offer them to patients.

I have a whole lot to say about pain. I wish I did not have so much observation time. What I have observed is something that you may or may not relate to. I hope some of what I write in the coming posts is helpful. Maybe some of what I have written on this blog site will direct you to answers for your pain. I think when looking at a program like The Unique Healing Program it helps to find someone who is willing to honestly write about their experience. So, before I close this post I will tell you that I was in deep pain when I found The UHP and I am now in less pain. Also, many other of my symptoms related to poor gut health have greatly improved. To get here, things often got more intensely painful at certain points. I have also found intermittent  to longer periods of alleviation of pain. Now, 18 moths into The Unique Healing Program, I can say I am feeling a pattern of  joint healing What kept me going all this time? It  was my being able to link my gut healing to my joint pain healing. My gut sickness to my joint inflammation. I am sure of that without any doubt in my mind. I say that with complete confidence. Not an easy resolution, but I am sure it is a true one.

More to come.
