WHERE SOME INFORMED PEOPLE GO TO HEAL
If you have the misinformed opinion that diet, smaller portions and green foods are not an important part of healing, and it is all about clay and “crutches”, think again…
Donna Pessin, the creator of The Unique Healing Program recently took some time off for a much needed rest. A good chunk of it was spent at a raw food retreat in Florida. Ms. Pessin disclosed that information, but did not give the specific name. If it was not Hippocrates Health Institute I would be greatly surprised. No matter which one it was, I can guarantee you, the place she went to was based on the model that Hippocrates has created and has made very successful for decades.
When I found The Unique Healing Program website, I read the first chapter, watched some videos and read the first book. My original thoughts were mixed because of some of the dietary recommendations did not jive with healing in my personal and clinical experience. I soon realized that The UHP audience is broad. It is designed to appeal to a wider audience of people. This appeal would not happen if they were told to eat mostly leafy greens, green juices, superfood powders, spirulina, chlorella sardines, lean fish, millet, etcetera. However, if The UHP books are read with an open mind it is very clear that eating a clean diet is part of the plan for a fast track to healing.
IT AIN’T EASY BEING GREEN
At least at first it isn’t but eating more green will make the healing process more efficient and will lead to feeling way better. Why? Because eating clean, low fat, low glycemic foods gives all the body systems a rest from breaking down more complex nutrients. Blended salads and superfoods are helpful. They are more than helpful they are necessary and should be [don’t should on me] the basis of the diet for most people. Sadly, this way of thinking is not popular. The food is not comforting, and most people do not understand that eating is primarily for energy. If your digestion is weak [constipation, IBS, burping, gas, acid reflux] you need to think about eating for healing first, on a daily basis, and let delish take a back seat. Every meal can not be a hug from mom, especially when you feel like crap afterwards.

If you are on The UHP, thinking about it or just stumbled upon this information, please know one thing: One of the biggest mistakes you can make on The Unique Healing Program is to use the ingestion of clay as an excuse to eat what you want, on any level at all, or on a regular basis. You may need or choose to do this at first, but if you are still chugging along months down the line, frustrated by not having the success you would like remember this: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is one definition of insanity. That phrase says it all no matter who you are taking advice from.
If you come to The Unique Healing Program with zero knowledge of The Body Ecology Diet, Hippocrates Health Institute, Anne Wigmore, Bernard Jensen and so many others, well, change that. You will heal faster. The Unique Healing Program will not heal you, you will heal you.
